The music is one of the least expensive parts of organising a wedding celebration, and yet is one of the most crucial. The importance of finding someone who you can trust to guide you in the choice of music cannot be overestimated.

As well as making hymns go with a swing (and David is well known for his ability to coax even the most faltering congregation into life!), the music is also there to provide both continuity (covering awkward silences or even the occasional clerical mishap...) and depth to the service at such moments as the arrival of guests, the procession to the altar for the blessing and the signing of the registers. It goes without saying that his repertoire of voluntaries for the entry and exit of the bride is as extensive as any CD, and his wide knowledge of organ repertoire makes it possible to suggest alternatives to those which are well-known. Couples have even on occasion asked him to provide an improvised piece of music at the bride's exit, truly a guarantee of something unique only to you. When TV's George Baker (Inspector Wexford) married his on-screen wife Louie in real life, they left the church to an improvisation on their favourite piece of music, Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy'.

David's wedding bookings usually go through Singing for Supper, a duo he has formed with his fiancee Alice Wratten, soprano. Please check the sound files at the Singing for Supper site!

Quotes from satisfied customers of 2007 -

"Thank you so very much for your wonderful playing at our wedding! You were so cool and relaxed, and it was such fun choosing the hymns with you when Dad and I came to Romsey. So many people commented on your brilliant playing and thank you for coming all that way to our rehearsal and being so lovely with all our friends who were singing and playing." - Victoria and Donald

"It was, of course, enhanced by the superb playing of David Coram; what a talented young man he is. His improvised intro just before I was glad was masterly, and I am assured it was all his own work. How he managed to conjure the excellent sounds out of that rotten instrument I cannot imagine!" - vicar in letter of thanks to choir director

"Very many thanks for finding the time to come over and play for us at the rehearsal and wedding blessing on Saturday. We appreciated the safe accompaniments and I know, from comments at the reception that the family and guests were delighted with your playing. Satisfied customers I'm pleased to say." - note from director of visiting choir
