"...his performances demonstrate an easy musicality – sparkling energy and a measured approach." (The Organ Club Journal)

"...player and instrument entrance from the start... Coram's touch and interpretation are of a very high quality indeed." - The Organ

"Make no mistake, Coram is one of the finest players in the South of England and widely recognised as such."

My career path has been an unusual one; after time at Oxford, I became variously a piano shop proprietor, pub landlord, construction project manager, plastic window salesman, and finally maker of glass furniture and design products before going it alone as a freelance musician in 2004.

I was very lucky at the start; several choral societies needing concert accompanists kept me busy, and before very long I became Assistant Organist at Romsey Abbey. In 2008 I moved on to St Peter's Bournemouth as director of music. Rebuilding a nearly-collapsing traditional choir of boys and men from the ground up (there was just one chorister on my arrival) was an immensely draining task, but along with my wife Alice (a wonderful singing teacher, and a great support) and dynamic assistant organist Sam Hanson we did it - not only did we increase membership to 13 junior choristers just twelve months later, but we also started a girls choir and re-invigorated a semi-dormant adult voluntary choir to cover holidays. Joint services with Wimborne Minster and Romsey Abbey took place, and we did resoundingly successful residential weeks at St Davids and Hereford cathedrals.

The 2010-2011 season includes concerts in the USA, France, Spain and Germany; the premiere in Salisbury Cathedral of a new motet by Bob Chilcott; the release of my Peter and the Wolf arrangement, recorded in Romsey Abbey with celebrity narrator Richard Briers, along with Carnival of the Animals (organ/piano) and Poulenc's Babar the Little Elephant (piano) with David Owen Norris at the other keyboard; composer Anthony Scott's centenary; and much else besides!
